My Darling Mother Father + Carrie

              Just a line to let you know we arrived OK and we have certainly been lucky and as far as possible treated with every consideration. First of all the trip across the channel was fine and instead of a long march when we got here we were met by a string of motor trucks and it was sure some lift.

              Murray + I are in the same tent. But we expect to join our Bttn. In a few days so you can send my mail to the 4^th Can/Bttn. BEF France and don’t forget dears I am a Pte now and I am mighty proud of it.

              Mur + I are both feeling fine and I sure hope everything is going along good at home + you are all well.

              From now on I will not be able to write long letters but will write as often as I can to make.
