My darling Mother, Father + Sis

              Just a line dears to let you know I am Jake and feeling fine. I received two dandy letters from home this week and believe me the reports about mother being such a whopper sounds fine and I hope you are all just as well. I am sure it must be such a comfort to be out of our old place and in the new home and it stands to reason that it must be healthier, I will sure be able to appreciate it when I come back.

              We have sure been lucky since we came over here. I mean as far as weather is concerned. It has been just like summer and believe me that helps a lot. Murray and I have both been initiated.

              My letters will all be short now even Annabelle’s. You just ask her if they are not. It is hard times having so much to say and not be able to say it. But some day I’ll be able to tell you some rare old yarns. Murray + I are both feeling jake and since we had a wash and shave this morning which is the first in seven days are looking better.
