Somewhere in France

Dear Mother Father + Sis

              Just a few lines dears to let you know, Mur + I are Jake and feeling fine, at present we are having jake weather real summer, perhaps a trifle warmer than we are used to but where I am now in the Bush it is jake and if I could only bust into 398 Princess Ave for a wee squint around things would not be too bad.

              In the mail yesterday I received two letters from home and one from Carrie so you see I was well away, in one of the letters there was $1 bill and she sure looked like real money to me. I was glad to hear that you had sold both cars as no one knew any better than I did what it cost to run them.

              I suppose you were quite surprised to hear that Mur only had a couple of days rest but believe me those two days were worth missing. Real hot ones. I wish I could tell you exactly where we are and what we are doing all the time. We have been in some pretty hot places since we have been here and we have had some good times.

              This is a good Bttn. I have not been on parade since we came out of the line. I am on the Bttn. Ball Team. Of course it is hard work training but you know I always did like ball better than work and I guess there is still something of the kid about me. Was glad to hear you were all so well. I will try and write again this week.
