Can. Seg. Camp
Dearest Mother, Father + Sister
Just a wee one dears telling you to get my room ready as I am surely going to need it soon. This war is nearly over and by the way things are framing I am going to be among the first let to go home. How do you like that?
I do not think very much of this camp here but she is safe so I should worry. I do not know when we are going on our leave but I have a hunch that the war situation has a lot to do with our staying here. This may be a demobilization camp for all we know and believe me dears I am just about ready to come home.
We are only a couple of miles from the ocean here and although the scenery around here is very nice it is too cold and this room here is like a refrigerator.
This is just a note to-day dears but I am sure feeling good and hope you are all the same way.
I would like to walk in and surprise you to-day but guess we’ll have to postpone that for a few months.
Your loving son + brother
Bob
P.S. I am going to write to Mrs. Pickrell, Birmingham now.
