Somewhere
My darling Mother Father + Sis
Just received a letter and believe me it was ‘Tries Bien”, we have been having quite a lot of rain lately, but outside of that everything is jake.
For the last few days I have certainly had sometime. We were all ready to go up when I had the chance of a try out with the Bttn. concert party, so at present I am back with the transport. Murray is up there so you will probably be getting field cards from him, I wish you would send me two or three of my songs also a couple of duets. I heard of a song to-day that I wish you would try and get for me called “Down Below”. This party will be composed of about 11 or 12 and at present there are 26 so there is a lot of weeding out to be done. Those who are lucky as good enough to make the party will be kept out of the line and will probably be attached to the Y.M.C.A. to tour the whole Canadian Corps.
There were 9 or 10 of us sticking together and we were left for the day without rations so we went out on an expedition, got potatoes etc. + talk about line um. Mr. Rogers is at present in charge of the concert party. He is a cousin of Elna’s from Toronto. I have not had a chance to speak to him yet. By the way I heard Harold had a chance of a job in the states and Elna did not want to raise her family to be yanks. Are they still in London.
I would sure like to see that verandah of Dad’s. I have heard about it from others. I also hear that you have the big fern in a prominent place.
Would sure like to be in old Princes Ave school but believe me dears I am not looking for any blighty if I can help it.
Have heard about the registration of all persons over sixteen, would like to be a deputy in some office. I’ll bet they hear some real comedy there.
I sure hope these new food laws do not effect the business too much but believe me dears we’ll pull through all jake.
I had a letter from Mrs. Camp the other day and was certainly glad to hear they were getting along so well.
Also heard from Ray Barreel and of course from Tommy she is sure a darling.
Well dear remember me to all. I am sorry Murray is not a musician + a dancer or an elocutionist so he could get a chance but I think it will be a pretty quiet trip.
Your Loving Son + Brother
