Dear Mrs. Leach

I was delighted to receive your letter, but was surprised to hear that Rob had been wounded as I had not noticed his name in the casualty list. I have written to him and received a reply stating that he is getting along very well. I do not think his wound is serious and I hope he will soon be discharged from the hospital.

After he returns to his unit I am going to try and have him transferred to some job in England as he has done his bit at the front and will make a good man for some administrative position here.

If there is anything I can do for you please let me know and I will be only too pleased to do it. Yours respect

               W.C. Butler
