Camp Bordon

November 14/16

Dear Mother, Father + Carrie

I know this will not grow to the proportions of a letter but will do the best I can considering that I sent a pretty fair one Sunday. Received Carrier’s letter yesterday and I sure hope you persuaded Dad to take his trip. If anyone deserves a holiday he does.

We are here completing our musketry and so far I have made good scores. Yesterday at 100 yards I made a possible 25 out of 25 and on 200 yards another possible 20 out of 20. Out of 45 points yesterday I made 45. To-day was not quite as steady on 300 yards I only made 13 out of 20 and at 400 yards 18 out of 20. There was no very good scores in fact min was good considering some of the others.

We have been pretty lucky here as far as weather is concerned we have not had any rain here yet. But we are in an Imperial Camp and get English rations and believe me we notice the difference. This is the best camp we have been at yet but the latest rumors that we have to move Friday to let some English Troops in here. I am sorry as the ranges here are dry and likely the next place we strike will be a mud hole. I have not heard from Murray but I guess he is all jake, and when I get back to camp we will be together again.

Well dears I guess this is about all the news when we are not firing we are forming fours + physical drill. Am glad you are all well. Remember my advice now dears not too much work.

               For now

                              Bob
