Our Part

Strenuous Goings

France Nov. 27/18

My Dearest Carrie

Haven’t had any mail since I left the Bat’n. It is three weeks now since we have had any Canadian Mail. I certainly hope it arrives soon. I am beginning to feel anxious about the situation. I hope it hasn’t been lost.

I have been expecting to hear from Bo for some time but nothing doing yet. I wrote him c/o the army post office as I did not know whether he was in Epsom or at the Reserve.

We are still having beautiful weather. Regular Indian summer. I suppose you are having some snow by this time.  I haven’t been far way from camp yet. I must look up Dr. Gordon Dobbin (Mrs. Axton’s Nephew) before the course finishes. He is on the staff of #2 Canadian Stationary Hospital which is at Boulogne.

I like the course very much. We don’t have very long hours and I am beginning to feel rested up after the past few months strenuous goings.

I am certainly looking forward to mail telling all about the doings when the armistice was signed.

The W.A.A.C’s gave a concert in the lecture theatre last night and it was certainly fine. Will enclose the programme.

Haven’t had any news of the B’n yet as to what they are doing. If they go to Germany I will have some trip before I rejoin them. I don’t fancy the ride in a box-car “pullmen” when the weather is cold.

I should be about due for leave when I get back. I want to get in touch with Bob before I do so as we can arrange to have some time together.

Well dearest this seems a pretty dry sort of letter but it really is the best I can do as there is really no news to write about. Must close now. Heaps of love + kisses.

                              Yours as ever

                                             Murray
